Simplified Video Streaming coming to Windows 10

January 29, 2015

As a long-time Windows Media veteran and former PM of Windows Media Player 6.4 to 11, I can’t tell you how excited I am to see us taking this approach. Windows 10 will officially support HTTP Live Streaming (HLS) and have enhanced support for MPEG DASH in the new EdgeHTML rendering engine, making it super-simple for Web sites to deliver professional quality video.

David Mebane and Jerry Smith from the Media and IE teams have a great writeup on the Internet Explorer blog.
This has been a great collaboration between our team in Developer Experience (DX) and Windows engineering.  #SanityPrevails
