Comcast DVR’s regularly come under fire for bugs, sluggish performance etc with little information available about software updates, known issues etc.  I recently discovered the Motorola DVR/Firmware and Software wiki which reports latest available firmware, changelists, fixed and known issues with each release of hardware, firmware, and software.  A useful resource when communicating your issues with your cable operator.

Good info to have although it’s difficult to be imprisoned in whatever Craptastic firmware version Comcast deems appropriate. As many frustrations as I have with the DVR and firmware itself it’s nothing compared to the program guide. I can’t believe I used to complain about the Microsoft program guide, what I wouldn’t give to have it back now.

Lance- I hear you. I spoke at-length with some of the guys who wrote the MSFT software and the hoops they had to go through.
